PJL 2022 Venue – Pakistan Junior League for U19

In Pakistan, the National Stadium, Qaddafi Stadium, Multan Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi Stadium, Gwadar Cricket Stadium, etc., are famous cricket venues. The Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore, has been chosen for the first edition of the Pakistan Junior League 2022. The first PJL 2022 Venue will be Gaddafi stadium.

According to PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja, it is the first season of PJL to be held. This type of cricket in our homeland will make our country’s stadiums and cricket more prominent and will have an immense impact on the professionalism of Pakistani cricket. Lahore stadium has hosted international and national match competitions in the presence of a full crowd.

There are many big stadiums in Pakistan. Qaddafi Stadium is the second largest cricket venue in Pakistan. It was constructed in 1959. It hosted one final of the World Cup between Sri Lanka and Australia in 1996, which was watched by over 60,000 spectators. The Lahore stadium was the first ground that was equipped with modern floodlights and had a power generator.

The first Pakistan Super League game to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium was the 2017 Pakistan Super League final match. For financial concerns, the PCB started the procedure to rename the Gaddafi Stadium in March 2022 to reflect the name of a new sponsor.

The stadium is located in Gulberg, Lahore (within walking distance of Ferozepur Road).

The old name of Qaddafi Stadium was “Lahore Stadium.“

Following Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s remarks in support of Pakistan’s right to develop nuclear weapons at the 2nd Organization of the Islamic Conference in Lahore, the stadium’s name was renamed in his honor in 1974.

Qaddafi Stadium was constructed in 1959 by Mian Abdul Khaliq & Co.

In 1995 and 1996, Nayyar Ali Dada renovated the Qaddafi stadium for the World Cup final.

Nasreuddin Murat Khan, a famous architect and civil engineer of the era, designed the structure of Lahore stadium, now known as Qaddafi stadium. It was built by Mian Abdul Khaliq & Co.

The headquarters of the Pakistan Cricket Board are at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

There is a capacity of 27,000 seats for spectators in Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

There are currently no scheduled games or competitions at the stadium. You can, however, follow PCB on social media to stay up-to-date on forthcoming games and its ticketing partners.
