Pakistan Junior League PJL Trails and Selection Procedure 2022

In March 2022, the PCB chairman softly announced the U-19 Franchise-based cricket league. Pakistan is the first country to launch it. Pakistan Junior League PJL Trails and Selection Procedure will be started soon. This league will be held on October 06, 2022, and end on October 21, 2022, at Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Six teams will play in this tournament.

Each team will pick eight local players and three foreigners. In playing XI, a minimum of two and a maximum of three players will participate. Every team will have a fielding, batting, and bowling coach and a particular trainer. Three local and three foreign coaches will train them.

PJL Trails and Selection Procedure

Players from all over the world will be selected on the basis of trials and selection. Pakistan Junior League PJL Trails and Selection Procedure will be based on these three categories;

Selection of Pakistani Players:

According to PCB Director of High Performance, Nadeem Khan, in a TV program, selecting the players from U-19 to the U-19 national cricket team is described. As per Nadeem Khan, city-based association tournaments are played at the district level. In this tournament, 93 teams participated.

Then, from the district level tournament, high performers are picked for the division cricket team. 24 teams are in the Division cricket team. After the division, six franchise associations joined to make two teams per association. Players are selected based on performance in divisional cricket tournaments.

Players from the above 12 teams will be selected for the Pakistan Junior Premier League. Then the Pakistan Junior League draft process will begin, and franchises will pick them. It is the complete procedure of selection for the Pakistan Junior League. PJL players will receive a stipend of 1500–2000 dollars.

Selection of Local Players who are Non-participants in the System

There is a bonus offer for the local players who are not playing domestic cricket. PCB is introducing a platform where the player has to upload a video of their specialty. Coaches will assess his performance. If he fulfills the desire of the coaches, then the coaches will pick him for PJL 2022.

Selection of Foreign Players:

Nadeem Khan shared that the PCB has written letters to all ICC-nominated cricket boards. PCB has asked cricket boards to provide names and stats details of under 19 players. A minimum of 2 overseas while a maximum of 3 players can participate in each team. A franchise can pick four overseas players. Based on stats given by cricket boards, the franchise will choose them in the draft process.
